Serafim Pikalov Makes Russian Headlines

On February 1 to 5 in [Orsere] (France) passed world championship 2012 on pair -[snoubordingu]. For the first time the competitions of adaptive [snoubordistov] of this rank were conducted in Europe.

In the list of the athletes of constant participating countries (Belgium, Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Canada, the Netherlands, New Zealand, France and the USA) for the first time appeared the name of the Russian of Serafim [Pikalov]. It described to us about its impressions from the competitions.

RS. The outstanding news - for the first time Russian athlete became a participant in the world championship on pair -[snoubordingu], truly sign event. You did go to France as the representative of the Russian [Paralimpiyskogo] committee?

No. To the championship I arrived one.

RS. It means, you did not have either trainer, or prosthetist… Heavy case.

By trainer, prosthetist and all associating I was myself, plus sometimes helped children from composite other countries. The trainer team Canada explained the fundamental rules of [borderkrossa], athlete from Belgium advised as to more correctly select trajectory, the trainer of the command of the USA helped to [naparafinit] the board (in this case it gave its tools and wax) and it gave advice for tuning of fastenings to this discipline, Italians helped to polish, Frenchmen proposed to take their prosthesis or its part when desired.

RS. Describe, if you please, about your impressions about conducting of competitions. Organization? Route?

Concerning organization, I can say that it was at the level of world championship, [koimi] these competitions they appeared. However in this case people did not lose friendly relation to each other, that I count in particular for the extreme sport very importantly.

If we speak about the route, then here to me compare not with which. Route for [border] of crosscountry race [vzhivuyu] I saw for the first time. On the opinions of other participants it was sufficiently not complex. What preparation - by it was given the maximum of attention both during conducting of rounds and between them, so that to be rolled was one pleasure - outstanding turnings, very pleasant springboards with the well studied landings. It would however, wish so that in the future start would make with [poagressivney] - at the beginning on the sensations too small a speed.

RS. How you do evaluate your appearance?

I showed the 22nd result of 28 participants. I consider this insufficient for the pride, but in this case this not worse beginning, taking into consideration the lack trainings. Furthermore one ought to note that in two days of competitions I improved my result for 2 seconds (it was two days with three rounds, and in each new round I it improved its time).

RS. It did associate with the rivals? They somehow did react to the appearance of an athlete from Russia?

Unconditionally it associated. All were very glad, that the representative of Russia finally appeared. Furthermore, as I spoke above, all without the exception proposed any aid. Including in the forming of command in Russia.

RS. To what extent is high the level of the craftsmanship of [snoubordistov]? How you do evaluate the readiness of the new form of sport for the large competitions, in Sochi, for example?

Level is high. There are very many well prepared athletes and formed commands. For me it was possible to tightly meet with the trainers of the team of the USA - in them several training bases (and several trainers), serious command (although to more correctly say several) and training programs. Children begin to be trained in November and carry out the minimum of 3 trainings in the week. For me it was also possible to explain that in Italy there is a program of the official additional training of usual [snoubordicheskikh] trainers for training [parasportsmenov]. I did not have time to learn on the remaining commands of component, but according to the external signs in the large part of the arrived countries (them was 10) all good both with the athletes and with the commands. They are ready indisputably to the competitions in Sochi.

RS. Add, if you please, to vapor of words from itself, which would be desirable to say.

Pair -[snoubording] the actually valuable serious sport, acknowledged in the majority of the large countries of world, with the very powerful vector of development. It is undoubtedly worthy to be [vklyuchen] into the Olympiad of Sochi -2014. Moreover, are already created all conditions for the solution of the problems, supply with sounied BY [PKR] as the reasons for failure of the start of discipline in program.

There are training bases into the USA, ready to accept Russian athletes. Moreover, the trainers of the team of the USA are ready to train athletes from Russia if necessary. To however, prepare its own trainers for [parasportsmenov] from good trainers on [snoubordu] is also possible, to make this is possible both on above sound-recording bases and in Europe. Concerning the athletes of Russia, with me were connected as the minimum three desiring, and I am confident, which when desired and proper organization the command to prepare is possible already to Sochi.

In conclusion, it is desirable to again touch [snoubordinga] as disciplines. I am confident, that this form of sport one of the good for the popularization of [parasporta] as a whole. I do not want to minimize the significance of any other [paradistsipliny]; however, I can with the confidence say that not one another form of sport would inspire me after the loss of foot as that, in which the people roll themselves exactly as analogous “two-legged” athletes, along the same routes. I no longer say that in comparison with the remaining forms of the sport of [snoubord] he has a reputation of the quite youth and spectacular from the point sight of the average man (especially [borderkross]). It is confident, the development of this form of sport is very important.

Conquerors of the championship:

In the category costing ([amputanty]), the man
1. [Evan] Strong (USA) sequential time proved his superiority, after becoming the champion of peace.
2. Carl Murphy (New Zealand)
3. Mike [Shi] (USA).

1. Bibiane Of [mentel] (Netherlands), which confirmed its title of champion.
2. By [emi] Of [pyurdi] (USA)
3. Sarah To [dorigatti] (Italy).

For the first time in the history the pair -[snoubordicheskikh] of competitions officially appeared sedentary athletes. In the category sitting among the men to the start they left three people. It is necessary to say that actually athletes appeared on the mono-ski; however, they were included on in pair -[snoubording], because route is [snoubordicheskoy].

Places were distributed as follows:
1. Turn sour- Ian der [Kluster] (Netherlands)
2. Jerome [Elbrikht] (France)
3. [Ravi] Of [drugan] (USA).
